A Philadelphia native, Katrina Deaton has always been a writer. A filmmaker by divine intervention, Katrina claims Underneath, her first feature film, was an idea that just wouldn't go away. After scrounging up three thousand dollars, a cast of thirteen, and a crew of five, Underneath came to life. A masterpiece was created in two years by a talented group of young men and women dedicated to a story whose message was just too powerful for words.

A graduate of West Chester University with a concentration in communications, Katrina is no stranger to the world of entertainement. She began as an intern for Ricki Lake and Judge Hatchett. She then moved on to work as a promotions assistant for Clear Channel Radio and later became a motivational speaker for underpriviledged youth. To fund her writing career, Katrina worked as a social worker and freelance copywriter. She simultaneously fed her dream during this time by working on various film sets including the Indie film Bottleworld, starring singer/dancer Mya.

Although Katrina has found her true love in writing screenplays, she claims poetry and song writing are her mistresses. Katrina recently finished writing her second feature Kathy's Daughter, an autobiography, along with a few shorts and TV pilots she's currently working on distributing.
